🚡 Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

      (30 min away)

 

One of those things that genuinely blows you away. You ride from the desert floor at 2,600 ft up to 8,500 ft on the mountain, where it's 30–40 degrees cooler, with panoramic views of the entire Coachella Valley. There are hiking trails at the top and a restaurant. Rated 4.5 stars with nearly 1,000 reviews Tripadvisor. Don't skip this one.

🌵 Joshua Tree National Park (45 min away)

 

A bucket-list landscape — alien rock formations, Joshua trees as far as you can see, and some of the best stargazing in Southern California. Take the off-road Jeep tour for a more adventurous angle Tripadvisor. A full day trip, or an easy afternoon if you just want to drive the main road and pull over for photos.
